Welcome! I’m Alison and I’m so happy you’re here. Welcome to our corner of the internet. That’s me and my husband Jaye above. I’m the voice behind Gimme That Flavor and the main cook, baker and recipe creator (it even rhymes!) and my husband Jaye takes the photos and makes the videos. What a team.
We absolutely love food and cooking and baking up a storm. And there is nothing better than enjoying good food in the presence of good company.
We have four little sidekicks that are not at all interested in eating what we make! They are our adopted cat kids Frankie and Ernie and Olivia and Richard. Frankie is actually pretty wild about lettuce and the odd mushroom (that’s her on the right) but that’s as far as she’ll stray from her usual food. And Ernie is not interested at all thank you very much.
Richard and Olivia are super cute and curious kittens who love to bound around the house excitedly while we try to cook and take photos. That’s Richard on the right and Olivia on the left.
As long time vegetarians (22 years and counting!) and passionate home cooks all the recipes you’ll find here are meat free. Our focus is really vegetarian comfort cooking. We love comfort food and delicious food and that is what you’ll find on this blog.
We like to keep things simple (like this easy lentil curry) and focus on recipes that you can make any day of the week with minimal effort.
Our ultimate goal with this blog is to create a fabulous vegetarian resource. So of course we need plenty of meat-free appetizers, like these baked jalapeño poppers. And plenty of sides, like this delicious cornbread, and of course lots of vegetarian dinner recipes like this amazing mushroom risotto.
And of course there will always be plenty of cookies and cakes and muffins because we love ALL the foods (and especially those baked goods!) Check out this amazing chocolate cake!
